THE FCTA HAS CRUSHED 476 MOTORCYCLES THAT WERE SEIZED FOR VIOLATING THE LAW ON OKADA BAN.

The FCTA has stated that it will continue to enforce the ban on Okadas without hesitation, despite any attacks on the task force team. This was announced during the destruction of 476 seized motorcycles in Area 1, Garki. Dr. Abdulateef Bello, the Director of the Directorate of Road Traffic Services, declared that the impounding and crushing of motorcycles would continue as long as the operators flout the restrictions.

Bello called on residents to assist the government in deterring the recklessness of these riders, emphasizing that the restrictions are still in effect, and the FCTA is committed to a zero-tolerance policy for violations. Ikharo Attah, the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Monitoring, Inspection, and Enforcement, who supervised the operation, stated that the task force would continue to be resolute in arresting violators of the rules.

Attah expressed surprise that despite repeated warnings and the crushing of over 1,000 impounded bikes a few months ago, people were still risking their economic livelihoods by bringing in commercial motorcycles to restricted areas.
