The Hon. Minister of the FCT, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, on Monday, 1st August 2022 reopened the Millennium Park, Abuja, which was closed to the public in 2020 as part of the Administration’s efforts to curb the spread of COVID -19.
This disclosure was made by the FCT Commissioner of Police, Sunday Babaji following the monthly FCT Security Committee meeting held on Thursday, 28th July 2022 and chaired by the FCT Minister, malam Muhammad Musa Bello.
Malam Bello who made the appeal during the second day of oversight tour of FCT projects by the Senate Committee on the FCT also expressed appreciation for the support the committee has given the FCTA over time.
The FCT Minister who made this disclosure in Abuja on Thursday when a delegation of Council of Chiefs of the Pai Chiefdom in Kwali Area Council of the FCT, led by the Magajin Pai, Alhaji Bawa Yahaya, paid a visit to the FCTA, said with adequate community policing, a lot of the security challenges currently being experienced in the FCT could be surmounted.

Malam Bello who made the call when he received the management team of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), led by the Managing Director, Buki Ponle on a courtesy visit to the FCTA on Thursday, July 7, 2022, expressed the hope that the agency would use its far reach to propagate the Administration’s policies and programmes, especially in the fight against the vandalization of facilities like manhole covers, streetlights fittings, rail tracks as well as the preservation of parks and gardens in the territory.
Malam Bello who was at the facility on Wednesday, 6th July, 2022, for an on-the-spot assessment of damage after the attack, which took place on Tuesday, 5th July, 2022, called on the Gomo of Kuje, HRH Haruna Tanko Jibrin to summon all traditional chiefs in Kuje Area Council to combine intelligence with security agencies to fish out the escaped inmates from the community.
