The Executive Secretary FCDA, in the company of some FCDA/FCTA Directors visited Ring Road 2, around Bunkoro/Jahi Districts today in order to assess the traffic issues within the area and proffer solutions.
The Federal Capital Territory Administration has taken several measures to stop the spread of Cholera as well as provide the highest level of care to those affected by the disease.
The FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello who disclosed this when he received a delegation of the University, led by its Vice Chancellor, Professor Olufemi Peters, on a courtesy visit to the FCTA, said such collaboration will close the gaps in capacity development of the FCTA which has a workforce of over 27,000.
This was made known by the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello during a courtesy visit to the FCTA by the Chief Judge of the FCT, Hon. Justice Salisu Garba.
The FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello who received the delegation, expressed his excitement about the project and said that establishment of the Medical Centre in Abuja will not only attract people seeking medical attention within the African continent to the Center, but also reduce medical tourism from Nigeria.
The Minister made this call during a courtesy visit by the Management of the Center to the FCTA on Tuesday, 29th of June, 2021.
The Minister who stated this during a visit by the UN Deputy Secretary to Government Secondary School Kabusa as part of activities to mark her 60th birthday, said the visit will further spur the students to realize their fullest potentials through hard work and determination.
FCT Situation Report:From May 2021, FCT began to receive reports of sporadic cases ofgastroenteritis in some communities in FCT namely; Wassacommunity (IDP camp), Dei Del, Zuba community, Shenagun andkubwa drawn from Three (3) Area Councils namely; Municipal,Bwari and Gwagwalada Area Councils in Federal Capital Territory.As at 23/06/21 a total of 91 suspected cases have so far beenenlisted with 7 deaths in Municipal and no death in Gwagwaladaand Bwari Area Councils. Out of these, 3 of the cases testedpositive for Cholera using the Rapid Diagnostic Test kit.
This assurance was given by the Permanent Secretary, FCTA, Mr Olusade Adesola following the routine FCT Security Committee meeting which was held on Thursday, 10th June 2021.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello who gave this assurance when a delegation from NOSDRA, led by its Director General, Mr Idris Musa, paid him a courtesy visit in his office, said collaborations between agencies is very essential for the effective prevention and management of disasters in the FCT.
