Malam Bello made the call when he received a delegation of the Commission’s management led by its Chairman and CEO, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, on a courtesy visit to the FCT Administration.

In response to the deep concern by the Honourable Minister of the FCT, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello at the high level of vandalization/theft of Manhole and Gully Pot Covers in the Federal Capital City (FCC) and the need to address the ugly situation, the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) Engr. Umar Gambo Jibrin has inaugurated a Task Force to audit the Vandalized/Stolen Manhole and Gully Pot Covers in the Federal Capital City.
Malam Bello added that this was very evident, especially in the FCT saying” Those of you who are residents of the FCT or who are frequent visitors to the FCT know what the FCT was in 2015 and what it is today”
Aliyu, who presided over the 149th Joint Area Councils Allocation Committee (JAAC), described the December 2020 allocation as a great improvement of over N 1 billion above the previous allocations to the councils.
The meeting which was chaired by the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello also had in attendance the Honourable Minister of State, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, the National Incidence Manager of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Dr Mukhtar Mohammed, the FCTA Permanent Secretary, Mr Olusade Adesola, political, traditional and religious leaders as well as heads of the various security agencies in the FCT.
In his remarks during the event, Malam Bello said that the programme in which 21,000 young men and women from the 21 local government areas of the State will be constructively engaged for 3 months, is intended to mitigate the negative socio-economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The minister who made the call when she visited victims of the Kugbo inferno, also commended critical stakeholders for the prompt response, stressing that the spirit of sportsmanship exhibited shows that much would be achieved by doing things together.
