THE FCTA DEPARTMENT OF MASS EDUCATION, IN COLLABORATION WITH ABUJA ENTERPRISE AGENCY (AEA), TRAINED 25 WOMEN ON SEWING SKILLS AT WOMEN CENTER.

1. The FCTA Department of Mass Education recently collaborated with the Abuja Enterprise Agency to organize training aimed at empowering women in suburban and rural areas with tailoring skills. This collaboration demonstrates the commitment of the FCTA Department of Mass Education to empowering individuals and providing them with valuable skills and knowledge.

2. This collaborative training between the FCTA Department of Mass Education and Abuja Enterprise Agency demonstrated the importance and benefits of partnerships in empowering women. By combining their expertise and resources, they were able to create a more inclusive and effective training program.

3. The training curriculum covered various aspects of tailoring, including pattern cutting, sewing techniques, design conceptualization, and business management skills. By providing comprehensive training, participants gained the necessary skills to excel in their chosen field.

4. In addition to its collaboration with the Abuja Enterprise Agency, the Department of Mass Education has been actively engaging the citizens of the FCT positively, while executing its core mandates. These mandates include:

4.1. Literacy Services: The department provides a comprehensive range of literacy services, including basic literacy and post-basic literacy programs. These programs aim to enhance the reading and writing skills of individuals, enabling them to participate fully in various aspects of society.

4.2. Continuing Education: The department offers continuing education opportunities for adults, providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to upskill, reskill, and adapt to changing times. Additionally, continuing education enhances individuals’ overall quality of life by providing them with a sense of accomplishment and personal growth.

4.3. Vocational Education Program: The department provides vocational training programs in various fields, including tailoring, welding, manufacturing, and plumbing, among others. These programs aim to bridge the gap between formal education and the job market, equipping individuals with employable skills.

4.4. Women and Girls Education: The department is committed to promoting gender equality and empowerment by ensuring women and girls have access to quality education. It implements various initiatives to empower women through education, enabling them to realize their full potential.

4.5 Integrated Quranic Education Program: The Department supervises 82 integrated qur’anic centers across the FCT to ensure the learners engage in literacy and numeracy education. Among the learners enrolled at these centers are over 4095 Almajiris from the Northern States.

4.6 Digital Literacy: Recognizing the importance of digital literacy in today’s digital age, the department provides training programs to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the digital world effectively.

5. By implementing these various programs, the FCTA Department of Mass Education is committed to empowering the citizens of the FCT through Residents Engagement, Empowerment, and Enlightenment. Enabling them to participate fully in the social and economic development of the FCT.

5.1 The Department of Mass Education has also established zonal offices throughout the six area councils of the FCT in which a wide variety of skill-acquisition programs can be offered, they are:

Abaji Zonal Office: Opposite Police Station, Abaji.

Amac Zonal Office: Karu New Site, Karu,Abuja.

Bwari Zonal Office: Near Divisional Police Station, Bwari.

Gwagwalada Zonal Office: Adjacent to Prison/Immigration Office, Gwagwalada.

Kuje Zonal Office: Along Kuje General Hospital, Opp FRSC Office, Kuje.

Kwali Zonal Office: Bunugo Road, Kwali.
