FCT Minister Wike Urges Muslims to Pray for National Peace During Ramadan

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has encouraged Muslims across the country to use the holy month of Ramadan as a time for prayer and spiritual reflection. He urged them to seek Allah’s (SWT) blessings for national unity and peace while embracing the guidance of Islamic scholars throughout the fasting period.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike emphasized the importance of prayer, particularly among Muslims in the FCT, during this sacred period.

“Fasting, as one of Islam’s five pillars, should go beyond abstaining from food and drink. It is also a time for deep prayers and supplication for our nation,” he stated.

The Minister called on Muslim faithful to wholeheartedly engage with the Tafsir (interpretation) of the Holy Month of Ramadan and allow its teachings to guide their actions.
