The FCT Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has pledged continuous interactions with the six Area Councils to ensure security and development of the FCT.
According to the Minister, “We must not politicize the issue of security. Its unfortunate that instead of people to rub minds together on how they will contribute and what they can tell the government on how we can solve the problems, all we do is to go to social media, fabricate lies, blackmail people and begin to mislead our people.”
The FCT Minister made the call in Abuja on Wednesday when he held a meeting with the FCT graded chiefs and Area Council Chairmen on the securiry challenges confronting the territory and government’s efforts in curbing them.
“To add to what you are doing here in Kwali, let me inform you to go and choose two other roads. You go and liaise with your traditional rulers. From what I have heard you say, there is one road you have said that is very important that is not motorable and you want an outpost of the army to be there. From what you are saying, it does appear that that road is very important. So, take that one and any other one.
FCT Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, made this disclosure in Abuja on Monday, January 22, 2024 during his first monthly media chat for the year.
The Minister made the pledge in Abuja on Friday when he visited the Gwagwalada Area Council in continuation of his town hall engagements to reassure FCT residents of their safety and galvanise public support for government efforts to combat kidnapping and other security challenges.
